State counsel Reginald Chavora told the court that on February 22 this year, Roderick Dube of Tashinga village in Nesby Farm went to the nearby Sable Bush Park during the night and sexually abused Arnold Kanodeweta's sow which was in labour.
Kanodeweta later heard unusual sounds coming from the direction of the sty and went out to investigate. Kanodeweta caught Dube in the act and immediately rallied fellow villagers to assist in arresting him. However, Dube bolted off in the nude, but was arrested the following day and taken to the police.
During trial, Dube told the court he was a divorcee hence his involvement in the dastardly act.
Magistrate Farai Gwitima sentenced him to two months' imprisonment wholly suspended on condition he performs 70 hours of unpaid work at Martin Spur Primary School. The magistrate also ordered that Dube be medically examined to establish if he was mentally sound.
